is it possible to be addicted to depression?

everything just seems much more vivid and real when i think about the times in my life that i was "depressed" and although i appreciate the fact that over the last few months i've grown to be the happiest i've ever been, i still miss depression, because i feel like it was mucmuchmuch easier to think creatively and such.
like, i remember writing poems every day. every. day. sometimes multiple ones a day. they were all quite dark, but my creative nature naturally leans to that side. because now that i'm happy, i still love poetry and art as much as i have since i was little (if not more), but i find it much harder to write about happy things. in fact, i pretty much cant at all. i can only write when i'm sad or depressed.

so i guess the point is, i miss writing. i think i used to force myself to stay depressed because i liked what came out of it. i was addicted to depression.
